Now that 2015 is up and running properly and has had its obligatory launch-day patches, it’s safe to share some news.
First off, I’m officially a Lead Game Designer now. This is a big career step for me and means doing more of the things I love, as well as having more opportunities to learn the trade. So hooray for that!
I’ll also be taking part in a panel at Belgrade’s Chibicon this month (weekend of Jan 31/Feb 1). It’s about morality systems in video games, so if you’re in the neighborhood and understand Serbian, drop by and say hi!
The Ring of Void is doing so-so. I’m trying to figure out how to give it the most exposure, but marketing books is proving to be harder than I thought. I’m experimenting with various methods, but I am at least happy with the feedback I’ve received so far. I’m hoping to have the sequel ready for mid-2015.
Also, if you like podcasts and let’s plays, check out Score Attack. We’re still active with that project and it’s gonna last for quite a while.
You can now purchase my debut novella on Amazon. Just follow this link.
The Ring of Void is a dark fantasy novella that follows the adventures of the psychopomp Shinnosuke Yamagami and his demonic corgi companion, Yago. Their job is to hunt down spirits that have escaped from the afterlife and bring them back where they belong.
The book is available in both print (thanks to CreateSpace) and digital format.
After dealing with a lot of stuff that was book-related but had nothing to do with actual writing, I’m happy to say that the Ring of Void will be available for purchase starting this week. Aside from being available digitally in the Amazon store, it will also be available in print form as print-on-demand.
I’d like to say that the journey is finally over, but I’ll have plenty of other things to tackle: making it available on more distribution channels, trying to get the book some more coverage, etc. There’s still plenty of work to do and 2015 is going to be a long year for me. I’d like to use this moment to thank everyone who supported and helped me with the Ring of Void.
I also intend to do a detailed post about the entire process of getting a book out there from zero to the store. A lot of what I’m doing is trial and error, but as I’ve figured out some things from others’ mistakes, so should others learn from mine. And really, I want some of the insanity out there for posterity’s sake.
The site is currently being fiddled with, tinkered with and generally mishandled, so apologies if something isn’t working. I’ll have a proper greeting up soon enough.
